One of the most complex renovations in New York City history, this project involved J.C. Steel Erectors spending more than three and a half years transforming the former DoubleTree Hotel into a 46-story, mixed-use tower. A defining achievement of the project was the vertical relocation of the historic Palace Theater, which was lifted in its entirety approximately 30 feet within the structure—an unprecedented engineering and construction feat. While the project utilized approximately 2,000 tons of structural steel, the scope was exceptionally intricate, with nearly every steel component custom-designed and installed under unique conditions. Each piece required precise coordination, planning, and execution, reflecting the extraordinary complexity and craftsmanship behind the build.
